There are moments in life when you are way ahead of the tracks, far up the mountains, it’s as if you are meeting the horizon. And then there are moments when you don’t know what is going on. You just keep walking. Even when you are being crushed by the sheer weight of the memories of where you’ve been, where you could’ve been right now, you keep walking.
The best you can do in such moments is to deal with that feeling, which I suppose is guilt, in a way that it doesn’t hinder with your movement and at the same time don’t get rid of that feeling so much that you completely forget where you’ve been. Have that feeling in just the right amount and use it as a driving force to reach a place better than where you were. That will help even if the path gets difficult.
The day someone stops moving is the end of new things, end of the adventure, and what sort of a life would that be. I know it is not very comforting to keep moving in a time when you can just take a few steps to have so much for yourself, that it’s very compelling to stop before reaching the point where you are capable of reaching. But that has always been so, hasn’t it? Don’t stop. Never stop. Never quit. Because that’s your best shot.
The day you stop before reaching your mark, you are a lost opportunity. We as humans are wanderers by nature. We have evolved in that way. Do you know we can beat a horse in an endurance race? Shocking eh? Isn’t it? Never stop. Because you are capable of reaching a point that is beyond what you think you are capable of reaching.
Remember, you have one life. And it is going to end someday or the other. You better make the best out of it or in the end there is not going to be a point in most of it. Take your best shot and go full flegded on it.
[the above is mostly a message to me]
