These are just some of the many proverbs taught to kids in nursery schools. It may not look like much, but observe carefully and compare your life with these proverbs. It wouldn’t take a lot to realize that many of the everyday problems that we develop and want to deal with have been taught to us since we were children! Although it’s funny to think that the people before us dealt with the same problems that we deal with (procrastination, indiscipline, greed, etc etc), it is also true that most people who do well in life are actually doing exactly these things.
It might be true that you can have a well-to-do life even if you stay up late and wake up late. But sometimes, just try waking up early in the morning and get those few things done that are important to you (like studying and working out) before you start the routine day. You may find how easy and relaxed the day goes, even when everyone around you is panicking about some stupid assignment due at 11 ‘o’clock, you feel relaxed because you have already done those things that are important to you before you start your day.
And when you have such a relaxed state of mind you can also make time for your hobbies! Read a book, paint a portrait, write a poem, play a sport, and do whatever you want by getting those extra hours in the day. It’s priceless!
I am guilty of not being able to inculcate these gems of advice in my life. Advice and knowledge that has been taught to me since childhood and that I’ve known for so long and yet I am not able to live like this. I guess the magic lies in knowing the principles of a good life and actually doing them. And it’s just simpler that way, to actually do the stuff you know to be better and not justifying your not-so-productive habits. These proverbs are not good because following them is “the right thing to do” or because of some commonly accepted way of cheezy naivety. They are good because they just make our lives easier. They are good because they make us feel good.
You might have noticed just in these three paragraphs how cliched it is and how even in just this blog those proverbs have so many reflections.
Just sharing my thoughts. Peace✌️
