This was the first game of whose campaign I finished. I played it in 2017, near the end of the year.
Ezio’s story was touching to a level that i felt the pain of the character. Even Desmond’s character was something i used to look forward to in the subsequent games, especially the interaction with the world outside the animus gave the game even more depth. Not that i had never had experienced the joy of engaging characters and good story, Harry Potterwas definitely on a league of its own for me at the time. But it was the first time i had encountered such great story telling and such engagement with characters and environments of the virtual world. Probably because i had part in the world and wasn’t just consuming content, but was interacting with it too! It might also have been the reason why it was the first game i finished.
But aren’t games just content to consume too? Do video games actually have any cognitive benefits? Hmm… This is thought provoking. But I’ll leave the research and opinions to the reader, because whatever they are, they are fun!
Just a blog i thought I’d mention here On Stories
